Dr. Newman has presented papers and has participated in discussion groups and panels at various professional societies and national conferences, including the Scientific Meetings of the American Psychoanalytic Association in years: 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. She has presented at the Psychoanalytic Association of New York, at The American Psychological Association's national convention, at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Education (formerly NYU Psychoanalytic Institute), and at APA's Division of Psychoanalysis.

Dr. Newman has been a regular contributor to the online edition of Psychology Today, for which she wrote "Apologies to Freud," a blog about relationships, therapy, health and wellness, and other psychological issues.
